Alex Amancio, Artistic Director of Far Cry 2, has taken some time to answer a few questions of CVG about the beginning of Far Cry 2
. Here a short extract.
CVG: Can you give us a bit of background on how you came onto Far Cry 2?
The team that's working on this Far Cry has been at it for over three years. A year after the original Far Cry we started working on this game. We came from different projects. Some of the core members came from Splinter Cell and other games, but we're basically a brand new team for this franchise...
Moreover they have released a Hands-On preview that we won't deprive you!
ar Cry was the first FPS we played that felt really open. The first FPS where we felt unchained from the beaten path the developer wanted us to see, the first FPS where if we saw a cliff top, we knew we could climb all the way to the top and paraglide into the horizon. But it wasn't a real open world, oh no, says Ubisoft Montreal. Far Cry 2 apparently is. 50 square kilometres of open world, to be exact.
