According to the Widescreengamingforum Far Cry 2 doesn't correctly support a resolution of 16:9. This means, that player with a resolution of 4:3 are able to see more, than with 16:9.
Where Ubisoft knows the problem now and they are working feverishly on the first patch for Far Cry 2, a hobby programmer thought to support the Far Cry 2
players with a small tool. It's called the (FOV Hack (Field of View, FOV) and makes it possible to use a resolution of 16:9. It's not perfected yet, but if you read the documentation on the website carefully it's easy to use.
